    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • Checking customers into vehicles, both cars and vans. This includes checking the vehicles condition and cleanliness. All the underwriting for the customer would be completed as well as taking a deposit and payment. There is also sales involved in this role for the protection packages. It is important to also show in the controls of the vehicle to customer. We also check customers out of vehicles when they return, checking for damage and finalising balances. Finally, we will check that the customer service has been great and make them aware of the customer service survey.

    Skills

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • I have developed my speaking and listening skills both by working with the team as well as with the customers. Overall, my people skills have expanded dramatically as I have had lots of practice working with a dynamic group of people and with diverse customers. I have also expanded on my communication skills as it is essential in this role to have great communication skills to improve the efficiency of the team. I have also learnt how to use Excel and make the most of the Microsoft software.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • Yes, I believe as an internship, I was given lots of responsibility and my responsibility shifted many times throughout my placement allowing me to see different areas of the business and have direct control over certain areas. For example I was sales captain and ran my own branch sales competition. We also looked at different areas for example costs where I controlled the fuel budget and kept track of our spending. Even on placement we was given the authority to take over a managerial role of certain areas of the business.

    Support & Guidance

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • The placements at Enterprise are structured based on set training sessions for face-to-face, and in person. Along side this there is a roadmap to follow, which consisted of questions to answer as well as quizzes for each section. Most of the training is day to day learning in the branch from the peers and the right managers. We did also have some branch and area sales and service training, which sometimes consisted of working in the evenings, but was supplemented by free food.

    Culture

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • The company has a great atmosphere where everyone is included. The company is very diverse which brings lots of different characters making work a fun place. The culture of the company is that what can be a fun environment and everyone still needs to work hard. Employees usually feel very connected with the company and want to work hard to see the company succeed as well as themselves. I personally feel invested as employees we can see the opportunities we have for ourselves. The way the company is structured, allows even placement students to see how they can have an impact on the business.

  • 8. What advice would you give to others applying to Enterprise Mobility
  • Be prepared to work hard and to give it your all. Make sure you are enthusiastic and passionate. But also don’t take everything too seriously as everyone is very nice Enterprise. There is a lot of information to get at the beginning but there is lots of support and you learn lots of useful information. Don’t worry about how much you know now as you will be coming to learn but just make sure you have the right mindset and be open and able to adapt to daily changes.
