Overview
Sat in a different department each week, with an associate/senior associate supervisor and an allocated trainee buddy. Attended insight sessions for each practice area, pro bono sessions and sustainability sessions. Encouraged to organise meetings with various members of the firm to learn more about life at TW at different levels. Had 3/4 social events ranging from crazy golf to a nice meal in London.0
Skills
Learnt a lot about the nature of being a solicitor and how different teams interact. Developed written communication, teamwork and presentation skills during assessed tasks.
Business Insight
Learnt about all the departments in the firm as well as many business development roles.
Culture
Everyone was so lovely, encouraging and welcoming. Hybrid working culture was also very seamless and seemed to work well for employees at all levels.
Your Impressions
I had an amazing time! Struck a really good balance between learning about the firm, networking opportunities, assessments and actually carrying out tasks on live matters.
Yes
Make sure you really do align yourself with their sectors as they are truly sector focussed and it can be seen across the work they do. Have a good understanding of the types of clients they work with and how the work their teams do may different from what similarly named teams at other law firms do. Definitely attend an open day or webinar before applying to learn as much as you can!
