    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

    • Communicating and collaborating with over 50 subsidiaries to manage daily cash forecasts Reporting monthly treasury activites. Repeating daily cash activites. Daily market reports for Europe, Middle East and Africa. Responding to adhoc requests from HQ and the Treasurer.

    • Developed Excel skills. Developed time management skills. Learnt how to efficiently use the Bloomberg Terminal. Improved reporting skills. Improved collaboration skills through working closely with colleagues.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

    • Was given a vast amount of responsibility for day to day activities, in addition to being responsible for important reports. Have been given great responsibility regarding cash forecasting and various projects to assist the treasury team.

    • Have been given a good amount of support during my placement from within my team to the emerging talents team. Was given a buddy at the start of the placement who was very helpful and interactive.

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

    • The culture may come as a shock to many employees. However it can be very interesting. As Samsung comes from South Korea there is a very hard working culture.

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?

    • Massively enjoyed the placement, have been able to gain a great amount of experience. This will most definitely set me up for a future career within the industry. The emerging talents team have been great at creating an interactive and engaging experience for the placements
