  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • My role as Engineering Plant Support involves supporting the production line in their engineering needs. Anything that would go wrong on the production line comes to this team for support: from part shortages to fouling issues, even including engine breakdowns in its early service hours.

  • Yes. As placements at Cummins, we get given the exact same work as all other full-time employees; from Day 1. This develops a strong sense of trust and accountability

  • A lot. Especially at the beginning, of course. Each placement student is assigned to an employee; and they will support us all through the year by providing training, feedback, and general help!

    Culture

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • Very good company culture. They hire to develop and it shows. All high-level employees in the company that I've come in contact with started as regular employees, some even in internships or placements. The company expresses the values it supports and actually does meaningful work to work toward them, supporting its employees to strive in their work, and personal and professional values.
