    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • The role was very research heavy, so most days would be spent conducting research for different projects. During my 8 weeks I got to work on 12 different projects which was fantastic exposure and meant that the days all felt quite different. Client exposure was limited due to the nature of the clients and external regulations. The team is quite small so it was great to get to know everyone well, and the company has a policy where everyone has to come in on a Wednesday and they provide lunch, so this is another great way to meet people. The intern cohort is small, with there only being 3 interns for this role in 2022, but it meant we got to know each other well which was nice.

    Skills

    Responsibilities

  • I was given as much responsibility as would be expected for a short-term intern role. Obviously I wasn't leading projects or presenting to clients, but I felt that the work I was doing was positively contributing to projects in a meaningful way.

    Support & Guidance

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • The internship had fantastic support and guidance, being given a more junior mentor as well as your line manager. There were regular, informal progress and review meetings which were very useful. There was a very friendly culture at the company, and everyone was willing to answer questions.

  • Really nice and friendly place to work. Not much mixing outside of your direct team, however there were a couple of socials which meant you were able to meet others. Everyone was very friendly and willing to help out! There weren't any opportunities to meet interns in other teams however, which was a shame.
