    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • On a daily basis, I liaised with internal and external stakeholders, to project manage events, promotions and fully integrated marketing campaigns across the region and EMEA. Each project targeted the student audience and aimed to drive product and brand awareness of Adobe Creative Cloud. From creatively directing promotional material and budgeting, to briefing agencies and copy writing, my role provided a holistic overview from the strategic planning to the final execution and reporting of a campaign.

    Skills

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • I have gained so many invaluable skills, learnt how to lead promotions, events and fully integrated campaigns from start to finish, liaise with various stakeholders, brief a mix of media, manage influencer and agency partnerships! I have even developed skills within copy writing, resource management, strategic planning, forecasting and budgeting! Throughout the year, I have challenged my creative and innovative thinking to overcome challenges, to pioneer new solutions and immiscible outcomes. My ability to effectively communicate has enabled me to create opportunities for people to connect, easily building rapport with different stakeholders and fostering a strong sense of community within Adobe!

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • Yes!! A couple of months into my placement, I was given the opportunity to lead the UK amplification for the biggest promo of the year…Black Friday! I continuously felt a sense of achievement and personal growth, which was reflected by my increased confidence, knowledge and responsibilities throughout the year! Additionally, I lead the UK ‘campus tour’, co-lead the 6-month Innovation Inspire programme, managed the first Adobe Express sponsored event and organised the Intern Graduation ball!

    Support & Guidance

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • I was completely overwhelmed by the support, guidance and commitment, to drive both my personal and professional development! I had daily 1x1s with my manager as well as monthly professional development sessions, where we set skill focused objectives. Additionally, I took part in the EMEA University and Intern Inspire program, as well as the shadow program which enabled me to shadow and work alongside colleagues, to expand my knowledge of wider areas of the business.

    Culture

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • The company culture at Adobe is incredible! I always found the office very sociable, supportive and welcoming, we frequently had employee lunches, cake afternoons, public holiday celebrations and even drinks every Thursday!! Adobe applies a people-based approach to business, providing many employee benefits as well as fostering diversity and inclusivity within the workplace! I always felt happy, appreciated, comfortable and driven to bring my ‘best self’ to work! I was super impressed with how Adobe focuses on continuous personal and professional growth every month!

    Your Impressions

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
  • I had an amazing time on placement at Adobe! I thoroughly enjoyed the experience, met loads of incredible people that I have remained in contact with and have taken away tonnes of new skills, experiences and fond memories! This was down to the endless opportunities that I was given to get involved across the business, my colleagues, the company culture, employee perks such as; wellness days and a working from home fund, as well as being able to attend corporate and customer facing events. Upon returning back to Lancaster University for my final year, I have continued my Adobe journey as a brand ambassador.

  • 8. What advice would you give to others applying to Adobe
  • My top tip applying to Adobe would be to show off your proactivity and creativity! Whether this is by taking part in a society at university, volunteering or even creating your own business venture! I would recommend preparing for the interview stage, by researching the company background (including the core values), looking at the social media channels to understand the recent initiatives and events, as well as identifying your personal strengths, which can be supported by examples presented on your CV.
