  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • Working with the team to create them a Microsoft Excel database of all their product formulations they worked on across 15+ brands. Use of Excel and meetings.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • I was given complete responsibility over my database that I created. I had to make sure the information was up to date and accurate. Other managers, 3rd parties would come to me for the information I had gathered.

    Support & Guidance

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • The first week I was guided very well by my LM, after that I was left to my own devices most of the time, which was nice as it showed me they trusted my abilities. If I ever did need help, everyone was friendly and willing.

    Culture

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • Everyone was very friendly and hardworking. When in the office, everyone went to lunch together and it was very nice. We were also encouraged to take coffee breaks by our manager to chat and have a change of scenery.

  • It was not what I was expecting from an R&D role, but it opened up my eyes to how a large company operates and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

  • Just be yourself, a lot of the culture is people based, so if you're personality is forced at interviews etc. once you're accepted it could get tiring if you were not authentic at first.
