  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • Managing communications (both internal and external), running and producing financial reports for the team and wider department. Creating visual assets to be shared both internally and externally. Managing the case study and stories for the team and increasing the promotion of stories externally. Event planning, execution and support.

  • I have learnt so many soft skills from my year at IBM. I now feel confident to present in front of a group of people as well as dealing with challenging situations with colleagues.

  • Yes and no. There were some things that I was thrown into the deep end with and others that I was not given enough responsibility with despite me feeling as though I could manage it.

  • I received a good about of support and guidance but not from my team. I found guidance from people in the wider department and from my HR manager.

    Culture

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • I really thrived from the culture in the wider marketing team at IBM. I felt like we all tried to keep the atmosphere in the office as positive and happy as we could especially considering the way the world is at the moment.

    Your Impressions

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
  • I only started to enjoy my placement when the offices opened back up and I could be surrounded by my peers and colleagues. I loved my placement towards the end when I managed to find projects and opportunities that I wanted to be a part of.
