Overview
Working across two practice groups gaining an insight into the daily work as a trainee in those departments. Also experienced a variety of useful talks about various practice area talks, as well as career development events.
Skills
I have developed my networking skills throughout, as well as teamworking and time management skills.
Business Insight
It was great to be able to talk to lawyers at various stages of their careers to understand what they do and how they got there. Everyone was very accessible.
Culture
Very welcoming always - everyone felt accessible. Sometimes when the office was quieter with people working from home it could feel slightly lonely (but this was the exception not the rule!).
Your Impressions
It was a valuable experience overall. At times when my supervisors were busy I had no work for quite long periods which became slightly dull - but overall was a very enjoyable experience. The most enjoyable parts were the talks, being able to network with lawyers, and getting to know the other vac schemers.

Use online resources where people discuss their experiences throughout the application process. Don't be afraid to be yourself - diversity is valued always!
