    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • My placement was focused on conducting a research project for the company, which I developed from scratch. Day-to-day activities varied depending on the project stage, but some examples include analysing past Environmental and Sustainability Statements, interviewing various specialists within BH, and report writing. Furthermore, other project work related to BREEAM and EIA were also undertaken occasionally, which involved conducting desk research.

I also gained a lot of practical insights about the built environment sector and learned about how different disciplines approach and perform impact assessments, the different types of mitigation measures proposed in built development projects, and how deliverables are coordinated and produced.
