The Role
Extremely well looked after by HR and Placement managers and there are a group of you so there is always something to be doing.
Almost everyone I came across was very friendly and wanted to help you develop your skills and knowledge.
Worked both ways, if you needed support they would be there but if you wanted the freedom they gave it to you.
Goes through stages, beginning of placements can be quite slow while you settle in, potentially same with end of placements. This year the company restructured which caused a lot of unsettled placements but everyone was very supported and in some cases created better opportunities
I was lucky to meet the right people and make the right contacts which meant i ended up with a lot of responsbility. If you want it, you will have the opportunity to get it in AW.
All of the skills i have learnt on placement will be invaluable to my final year, and will no doubt make my work a higher standard than if i had not done a placement
The Company
Different offices will have different atmosheres, but both mine were brilliant. Really friendly, helpful and fun.
AW has been doing this for years, so it is very well organised.
Had one professional development course which taught you about your personality and other types and how to work with them, and presentation skills. Graduates get more as they are with the company longer

Would be very interested in the Graduate Scheme
The Culture
Group of 10 undergrads plus grads, meant that you were busy almost every night and weekend. Location isn't great for things to do but if you get out and travel there is a lot to do in the surrounding areas.
Average, I lived at home and travelled. Bars arent student prices but also not london.
Couple clubs and a few bars. People used to city life may find it quite quiet, but its the people your with that will make the nights out and there are so many people to meet through AW.
There were organised events through work (AWASA/AWADP) which took place outside of work, there is usually always something on, and if there is a group of you theres nothing to stop you organising events your self. Our group met every weds for various social/sporting events and usually organised something for the weekend too.
