Overview
Assist Engineering department in projects: Problem solving to determine heating issues with the plant through on site inspections and data analysis. Co-ordinate repairs on asset related issues by scheduling contractors, working closely with the Life Extension team. Optimisation of process equipment to improve flowrates. On-site waste gas analysis and measurement. Installation of heating device to an oil tank. Chair Daily Standup Meetings.

Responsibilities
Yes, as I gained a better understanding of the process and drew patterns from the data set, the project scope grew to include more on site work. I was also given other projects work on.

I was assigned a Mentor when I joined who supported me during the placement by providing advice and finding me projects to work on. My mentor was excellent,
Culture
Relaxed atmosphere. There is a real community feel here, with everyone encouraging others to develop and learn.
Your Impressions
I thoroughly enjoyed my placement, particularly the site work and hands on experience. The best part was going on site everyday and learning about the processes and challenges of the plant, and ways to trouble shoot them. There were some quiet moments where I worked most of the day in the office, however these were quite few. The knowledge I gained here is relevant to my degree.
Yes
Try to understand the processes and the way the system operates early on by getting out on site and speaking to colleagues and contractors. If you're feeling underworked, ask your Mentor for more projects to work on and more responsibility.
