    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • Helping the MEP team on mechanical and electrical aspects to a project in addition to general research tasks. This involves internal meetings with the MEP team, my manager, and colleagues I worked alongside for projects. Tasks varied from a day-to-day basis depending on project and included using Revit (+ Dynamo) and IESVE for building models, drawing schematics, coding, and using Excel and Revu for data processing. Time-wise, roughly 15% on meetings, 85% on tasks.

    Skills

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • Improved my social skills from collaborating with colleagues and communicating with industry professionals. Learned how to use Revit (+ Dynamo plug-in), IESVE and Revu from working on projects. Developed my existing Excel skills by making an automated calculation template and also from data processing.

Also responsible for long-term benefits for team like writing code which automates part of electrical design process and creating a funding database in Excel, both of which could be used for future projects.
