Overview
Fantastic induction week with the interns from all other offices. During the other two weeks, sat with two different groups and given a mixture of live/'real' tasks and non-live tasks. All work was typical trainee tasks and the teams were very inclusive and welcoming. Nothing too technical or strenuous and lots of support given.
Skills
Sector talks from the international group heads were particularly interesting to develop understanding of the 10 sectors that DLA operates in. Developed presentation skills and written ability.
Business Insight
Very exciting - the firm has a whole host of opportunities which are incredibly attractive and make you excited to potentially join.
Culture
One of the nicest environments I have ever worked in. Every single person I spoke to was welcoming, kind, friendly and always always made the time for you - even as an intern. Being in the office felt natural and there was never any feeling of not belonging. DLA very actively cultivates a friendly culture.
Your Impressions
Thoroughly enjoyed my 3 weeks on the internship and would genuinely recommend to anyone seeking to apply.
Yes
Be yourself! The firm genuinely values diversity. It is also more important that DLA is a good fit for you rather than the reverse, so be yourself and have fun with it.
