    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • I would support my coworker on an engagement by attending internal and external meetings with the client and taking notes. Then, I would do research on the brief that my coworker gave me, usually looking into our client's customer experience on their website or app. Then, I would find opportunities for improvements that their competitors are doing and present these as best-in-class examples. I would design slides and find fresh industry innovation opportunities.

    Skills

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • I have perfected my research, presentation and PowerPoint design skills. I have learned how to use internal tools to help our projects. I have worked with Excel, data and analytics, perfecting these skills. I have practised being interviewed and interviewing others, and moderating sessions. I have worked on my time management and note-taking. I have worked in teams, developing my listening and communication skills.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • I was treated as an equal throughout the whole internship. I was given more or less work depending on what I asked for. I was able to sit in meetings with important people and helped in workshops. I was usually given the easier jobs, but if I asked to be involved, my coworkers would agree. I did not get the chance to present to a client, which is something I would have liked to do.

    Support & Guidance

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • I had a buddy and a people manager. I met with both once a week at first, then once every two weeks. However, if I needed help, they were both a message away and were always happy to answer and help. When I was working on projects, the coworker that I was supporting would always answer my questions and would be happy to jump on a quick Teams call if I needed support or clarity.

    Culture

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • Adobe, in general, is a very inclusive company, and you can tell they care about you. There were always perks and many company-wide calls to encourage togetherness. There was always free food and occasionally events at the office. On Thursdays, some employees would go to the pub and they would talk to interns. You never felt annoying or out of place. Adobe marched in London pride 2022. I wish there had been more intern events.

    Your Impressions

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
  • I was very happy with my role and team. I had the perfect workload, I felt seen, heard and understood, and I loved my team. I wish we had had more team events, especially ones where we had the chance to travel. My internship started to get better when I started meeting the interns and going to the office, I wish I had done this sooner. I also wish more official intern socials had been organised, but when we started organising these ourselves, it made the experience even better.

  • 7. Would you recommend Adobe to a friend?

  • 8. What advice would you give to others applying to Adobe
  • Definitely apply! Be yourself in the interviews and practice with someone. Don't be scared to ask out-of-the-box questions at the end of the interview. Adobe is a very welcoming place and the people interviewing you are just people! They want to see your best side and if you will fit into the role. Sometimes, if they think you are better suited to another role, they can facilitate that too!
