    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.

    • The schedule ran from 8:30am-6:30pm and looked into all the sectors within investment banking.We had small and large group networking events and presentations from various employees. There were some fun activities such as escape rooms and video making to break up the learning

    • During the week I felt my confidence grow both in IB terminology and in general. I feel that my networking ability has expanded and I would be able to do this a lot better now. Overall, I grew my interpersonal skills the most

    Business Insight

  • 3. What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?

    • It was very insightful. I only had a limited idea about the divisions with the bank and how they were connected but by the end of the week I had a deeper understanding of the roles within each division and the products/services offered. I think some of the terminology still wasn't explained clearly due to time limitations

    Culture

  • 4. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

    • Everyone seemed to be very happy in their roles and able to discuss why they liked their role and the company as a whole. The information about the employee groups and CSR initiatives you could be involved in was very interesting as it showed they looked after their staff. Giving staff 2 volunteer days per year is a good sign as it shows a friendly and forward thinking culture

  • 5. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?

    • I really liked the insight. I was able to connect with other young people who are in the same position and learn from their experiences. I also got to do the same with staff who shared their valuable experience and tips. This was my first spring week and I wasn't sure what to expect but I felt included and like I gained so much knowledge
