    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.

    • Throughout the programme, we were really there to have more of an insight into DLA Piper, who they were and what they were about. We heard from many inspirational speakers as well as the Global Co CEO Managing Partner of the firm. Each day, there were different activities for us on the schedule such as networking sessions, dinners and interactive workshops.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

    • Yes, I have developed good, clear communication skills in being able to speak to new people as well as ask questions to senior people at the firm. I have also developed good teamwork skills in working well with others at the scheme in competitive tasks that we were set.

    • It was amazing as DLA Piper hold many opportunities for their people at the firm which is incredible to see and aspiring as you can always progress in your area and field.

    Culture

  • 4. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

    • I was only there for an insight programme, therefore I did not get to really find this out but hearing the trainees, it seemed as if there was a good work-life balance at DLA Piper in that you can balance any personal interests you have with the workload and they are accepting of this.

  • 5. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?

    • It was a really great experience of the firm showing us who they are and they really won me over. Such an incredible experience and I also was able to network with different students too which have given me some long life friends.

    • Apply! It is such an amazing firm with numerous opportunities at hand. They will help you in any aspect you need in applying there and ending up at the firm. There is a sense of continuous support for their trainees and the work they do which is amazing.
