    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • In 2 months (out of 4) I worked on 20 different projects. Each day is different, each task is different. Could be pile review, ground model creation, plotting values, redaction of a report, a summary of the geology of a region, learning form a guidance, group meetings for learning and development.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • I am in internship after only 2 years of engineering studies out of 5. I just had basic knowledge in geology, nothing in Geotech. So I had to learn everything. Nothing was familiar to me except a few things about water due to my previous internship.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • I had to write reports for desk studies in my 2nd language. It was a good challenge, a lot of things to learn and I was helped by an amazing and kind team.

  • As much as I need. Just ask and people will help you.

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • A friendly company, a nice team to have lunch with and do more activities like sports. Working atmosphere is very nice, good way to learn a lot with competent people.
