    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.

    • The Insight week is by far the best programme that can introduce me to the work at Bloomberg and the culture there. It was a training programme around the products and services the company offers. We also learned Global Markets' basics and completed some demos as an analytics and sales professional at Bloomberg. We finally worked in teams to come up with the final presentation using data from the Bloomberg Terminal.

    • I learned a lot of countless new skills. A few of them are teamwork, communication, presentation, Bloomberg Terminal, Global Market concepts, etc.

    • I got the chance to interact with analysts and Team leaders to learn more about their day-to-day at Bloomberg. Also, as part of the programme, there were sessions where professionals presented their division at Bloomberg.

    Culture

  • 4. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

    • The company has one of the best cultures. Everyone is accessible, and everyone is eager to teach a new thing. I think the flat management culture of Bloomberg makes it unique in the finance sector.

  • 5. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?

    • Everybody at Bloomberg is accessible and willing to teach what you know. I got the chance to talk with different people, including my peers, via the IB chart function that Bloomberg offers and via LinkedIn.

  • 8. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Bloomberg

    • First of all, understand what sector Bloomberg operates in - Financial information, learn about the basics of the Global market (buy-side, sell-side) and how Bloomberg connects them. Read about the Terminal and how Bloomberg outperforms its peers in the sector. Finally, read the news, be curious, come up with thoughtful questions, engage with professionals from Bloomberg via Linkedin before your interview so that you know more about the company.
