    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • There were highs and lows at all points of the internship. At times it was a struggle, especially on evenings when I was working until 9pm at night, but overall I felt it was enjoyable and I met some great colleagues along the way.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I felt very valued by my colleagues. Performance reviews were a particularly useful way of gaining feedback from my Manager and helped to boost morale.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I was given far more guidance on my second project. On my first project I felt I had little guidance or support from my Manager. Contact was particularly difficult at times, my time was wasted for the first month of the internship. The second half of my internship was a stark contrast. My Manager provided me with constant feedback about ways I could improve my performance and what I was doing well. If I was a permanent employee at Accenture she would likely have guided me through the performance review and help with promotions.

    3/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • For the first 4 months of my internship I had little work and felt what I was doing wasn't creating a great contribution to the running of the project. The second half of my placement was much more productive, although perhaps too busy at times. The last two months of my placement were about the perfect balance.

    3/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given a fair bit of responsibility. Whilst my role at times seemed perhaps full it was part of a key process within the business.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Skills developed will certainly help prepare me for the world of business after my degree, in particular excel skills, word and most imporantly communcation with other staff. I believe this will also aid my studies as I will be able to create clearly structured essays.

    4/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • On both projects there was a nice atmosphere, people were very friendly and supportive in work. There was a good balance between work and getting to know other colleagues.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • I felt the roles could have been organised slightly better, perhaps with a little more responsibility and training. I.e. 2 days on excel. However I felt overall that the HR Reps were very friendly and helpful! Events were organised really well and I enjoyed the induction week.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • More investment could have been made in training. The only training offered was for a course that I didnt particularly think useful. However the training provided on my actual projects was good.

    3/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Company Parties/Events

    Working from home

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I would heavily consider re-joining Accenture if I was offered a place.

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Weekly team drinks and meetings were organised regularly. They weren't organised too often that it felt overbearing and staff were very understanding if you had prior commitments.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • I lived with with my parents, although this was expensive for other interns. It particular socialising in London is very expensive.

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • The nightlife in London is great, however I didn't spend a lot of time going out with my colleagues...

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • This could certainly be improved. HR planned loads of great activities for the interns but on a project basis more activity days could be held outside of work.

    3/5
