Overview
It was two days of sessions via zoom. Approximately 9-5 with generous breaks in between sessions and for lunch. There were networking opportunities, lecture-style sessions where we learnt about educational inequality, how o plan a lesson etc. We were also split into breakout rooms for small group work, preparing for a debate, and giving our mini lessons.
Skills
I think the self-evaluation sessions were really useful, I learnt about myself. Skills I gained/developed were: team work, humility, self-evaluation, teaching/lesson planning.
Business Insight
There were several sessions talking about further opportunities with Teach First and the application process. We had the opportunity to ask questions of current and former participants on the graduate programme, and Teach First recruiters.
Culture
All the Teach First people were very friendly and willing to answer questions.
Your Impressions
I thought the insight was very worthwhile and mostly enjoyable.
Yes
Make sure you pay attention to the TEach First competencies that they look for and try to incorporate them into your application. Also, the video component isn't as bad as you think.
