    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • During the COVID-19 pandemic I was given the opportunity to work remotely working at Buro Happold. This was something that made my days interesting and much more enjoyable and also gave me the ability to (virtually) socialise with people with experience on my degree which were able to further guide me. I had the freedom to choose to some degree how I would approach the project I was working on and that definitely added to the whole experience .

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Having an internship remotely was a first both for the team I was working with and fir myself. However, they managed to balance it perfectly. Every morning there were calls with the whole team discussing what each one will do on that day. On top of that I was able to call my supervisor whenever I needed extra help and he was also calling to check on me at least ones a day, which was something that I found extremely helpful

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • 4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I had a project that I was mainly working on for the duration of my one month internship. Towards the end of it my project was almost finished and I had less work to do with that so I could help with other smaller tasks. Overall, I would say that I was given enough responsibilities. However, I was feeling like I would be able to handle even more responsibilities than that if that was needed from me.
