    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the virtual experience?
  • I really enjoyed it listening to the team and what Santander is really about and it was very easy to access. If there is another virtual experience I would love to attend as it is really has boosted my future career prospect and it was the perfect time as I am nearing university and I was finding it difficult to see what job sector I wanted to go into in a few years time which I’m pretty satisfied

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • Very welcoming and pleasant start, there were quite few people and they were probably from my age group who are either certain or like me who didn’t know what they wanted to do in this industry. I have never attended anything like this before and it is such a great opportunity to attend the session and I didn’t feel left out or inexperienced compared to everyone else and it quite out of my expectations and my perspective has changed

    4/5

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the virtual experience?
  • Quite a lot of information and gave me an insight into my career choices and what I want to study at university

    3/5

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Lots of team work and it boosted my confidence a bit which was amazing and currently I have never went to a virtual experience before the Santander work experience. It has helped me work on my research skills and independence research about the banking industry and the roles within this sector and have me a further insight into the behind the scenes of the industry I was interested in and hopefully get into in the future

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the virtual experience?
  • It was pretty successful and the structure and timing was pretty good and everything went successfully and I’m grateful for having access to this work experience as it suited my time schedule as it was during lockdown so I had lots of spare time and this was a very good use of my time and I hope that in the near future I will be able to use these skills and info learnt during the session

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your virtual experience?
  • Pretty fun and interesting, very welcoming and it was fun to present and for specialist or people who work as a part of Santander to introduce the atmosphere and roles within the bank on the wider perspective and it has exposed me to roles I have never even imagined existed and the call was very calm and not very hectic and rushed. I really liked the whole experience and it really was a amazing experience

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • It was more to do with group work and working on our research skills and our interest and it has been pretty good to invest myself to knowledge and further insight into the industry and has helped me develop lots of skills that can be applied to my future despite having a online work experience. In the near future I hope we can all access the real life in person experience and all the related skills

  • 8. To what extent did the virtual experience help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • It was an overall talk into the major or minor roles that work together to become such a great company. It has helped me understand not only the roles within the company but other companies and how they work. This is great insight for my future and where I want to be in life. I was initially thinking of being an accountant but since then I have talked to students from uni and how they find it

  • 9. How much did the virtual experience help you in understanding the company culture?
  • Very helpful as it has helped me understand deeply about the company as a breaking ice task we were asked to research the company and feedback and I found Somme interesting facts and would probably not have known if I was never given that task and I was pretty intrigued by the history of the company and how it had came about. If it wasn’t for the pandemic I would have loved to apply for the work experience

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • The content has been incredible and has brought me information that was not mainly accessible in other places and once I heard of this experience I was waiting for this day and it pretty much lived up to my expectations and everything went pretty smoothly and everything went well and I hope if there is another similar experience the company would email me and others on any future actual experience inside their headquarters or in their branches

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • This was just a virtual work experience with lots of talks from people in this sector. Despite not being paid or reimbursed expenses it was an amazing insight into all the good and Interesting facts and the details that surprised my or that I have never expected eg the roles and the unexpected things you can do in this sector and the company that was well know by a lot of people and detailed view of the industry

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • We met a few people from the bank and they described their role and what they enjoy and what they love about their job and the interesting roles they play as in the company. I was very curious of what other job they’re. So I done some research on the ucas website and found many job sectors and I have expanded my future to finance as a whole and this has given me insight into what course I would like to do

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • There weren’t many this year due to the pandemic but the work experience virtually was also very accessible and gave a lot of info. In the future I hope that every thing will settle and I am able to access more of these events in person and talk to more people and see how much they enjoy it and how much it is worth to take a degree from something in the banking and finance industry

    3/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • There were quite a few experiences that happened eg internships and work experience paid in the branches in London but has been sadly disrupted due to the lockdown and strict rules. But the activities on the virtual experience has improved my group skills and also my independence skills. Despite not having a in person work experience it still gave me access to cv skills and workshops which was pretty satisfactory and told us about lots of future opportunities

    3/5

  • 15. Would you recommend this virtual experience to a friend?
  • Honestly this would be highly recommended to my friends who are slightly interested into this industry sector as it has brought me into such a grateful and interesting insight that I wasn’t my friends to also experience and gain more information Into what they want to do and hopefully they will be as happy and successful as me with how content I am with the virtual work experience and hopefully they will expense the same as me
