  • Everyone was welcoming and made an effort to speak to you which made me feel like I should be there. The phone calls before and after also made me feel like they really valued who applied and wanted to help.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • The phone call before as well as the webinar meant I knew what to expect which was helpful as an anxious person. Throughout the insight we were told why we were doing each activity and how this would help in the future, as well as with my degree.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The leadership and groupwork skills we were taught have help me with group projects I have been doing at uni recently. This especially surprised me as my grades have gone up since! The skills have also helped me when volunteering in a primary school.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • We were given a booklet which showed what activities we were going to undertake and how this linked to each Teach First competency, making it clear why we were doing each one. Putting people in groups with those who did the same/similar degree was also a good shout as it made the lesson far easier.
