Insight day Review

I found this insight day at deutsche bank not only extremely inspirational , but also thoroughly insightful. I got to hear from speakers who were once in my position, giving valuable advice and new tips on how to best present yourself , overcome various obstacles and persevere through difficult situations.

The deutsche Bank staff were very welcoming and gave off an amicable ambiance. As a women , through personal life stories shared by the speakers, this gave me a sense of hope and empowerment. We also had the opportunity to ask questions and to interact with the speakers when necessary.

I received a lot of guidance and support from everyone who came. I learnt how to tackle the application process and was provided with resources that can help me become familiar with the various divisions I attend to apply to as well as finance jargons I may come across during my internship.

They will be extremely useful as we were provided with notes and pens and I was able to document a lot of advice which I will definitely be referring back to for the application process and possibly throughout my career. This does not just consist of theoretical help but also inspirational quotes and life lessons.

The insight day was extremely well structured and organised with enough time for the speakers to give critical points and enough time for us to ask critical questions as well. There were also a range of activities which kept me stimulated throughout, ranging from the teamwork task to the icebreaker at the start.

The general atmosphere was lively and amicable and depicted that everybody there was happy to be working there which was very positive and encouraged me to apply for the summer internship. In addition, everybody seems very hard working and dedicated. The amalgamation of these qualities makes for the ideal team and anyone would be happy to be able to work with such people.

This was only an insight day therefore there was a limit to the extent to which they could invest in us. However given the short amount of time we were there, I learnt a lot more about the finance field, the division I intend to apply for, as well as the application process.

This insight day was extremely useful in helping me decide what I would like to apply for as there were speakers from various divisions who spoke extensively about what their daily tasks consist of, qualities that will help one exceed in their division, and the importance of their division in the bank as a whole.

The insight day was very useful in understanding the company culture. In addition to one being able to detect the culture from observation, experience and interaction with staff, we were also lectured in depth about deutsche banks core values and other aspects of their culture, as well as key qualities they look for.

Thé content of the day was very valuable as it helped me to confirm whether I would like to pursue a career in the finance field, as well as decide which division I would like to apply to based on where I felt I was best suited and found most interesting.

As this was an insight day we were not paid as we did not do any work for the firm. We were not reimbursed for any expenses either however not many expenses were incurred.

Although there were not set time slots for meeting the employees, we had the opportunity to network with them during the breaks we were given. In addition, many of the employees gave us their job cards in case we wanted to network further or ask any more questions therefore this sufficed.

Although the focus was more on their roles in the firm, a few employees did mention activities they get up to out of work.

Yes I would definitely recommend this insight day to a friend as I thoroughly enjoyed it and I’m very grateful to the host for creating this opportunity for us. I have taking valuable life lessons, stories that inspire me everyday in everything I do , as well as further enhanced my knowledge.
