    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?

    • The speakers on the day were from different departments and gave very detailed insights into their day-to day work, the excitement and challenges that come with their role, as well as the support and development that they have been provided with during their time at BDO.

    • It was only a few hours but during that time everyone was welcoming and pleasant.

    • The information provided about the application process was very well presented and explained and I know it will be very helpful.

    • The information helped give me a better idea of the roles within each department which in turn led me to deciding which role I would most enjoy thus, which I would apply for.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?

    • The structure of the day was faultless. Time was very well managed. We had enough time to listen to different speakers, find out about the firm and the application process, network and, research and present a topic.

    • Very relaxed atmosphere for an insight day, everyone was easy to get along with, I enjoyed it.

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?

    • It was insightful. The speakers spoke in detail about their day-to-day roles, what they most enjoyed about it, any challenges they have faced and the importance of the relationships they have with their clients. They also spoke on the balance needed between work and self-study whilst in the process of qualifying in your chosen field.

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?

    • It was helpful. The core values of the firm were emphasized as were their practical applications in the workplace. One of the trainees also spoke in detail about the various societies that one may partake in or even create. Furthermore, the great work-life balance was a common element from most of the speakers (dependent on the department).

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?

    • It affirmed that the business area I want to pursue is the right one for me. However, I was undecided between to sub-areas and it helped me make my decision.

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?

    • It was an insight day, they kindly provided us with lunch, snacks and drinks.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?

    • We had a Q&A with the employees after each of their talks and had an opportunity to network with other individuals who had come for the insight day.
