    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • A great overall holistic experience into management, with a good social life and especially the access to FTSE 100 clients to consult for. Great client teams and the company as a whole is very young, innovative and always keen to hear what you have to say. Access to senior leadership is a great bonus

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Client teams are small, especially for the higher profile ones- which means taking on great responsibility and receiving direct feedback by colleagues

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Support and communication with the line management was great throughout and with senior managers on each rotation

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Varies dependent upon life cycle and company requirements, but there is always something that you can be doing/ assisting with or working for something in the future

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • A huge amount of responsibility was given during the placement- direct access to world leading clients, locked box projects and you are really valued within the teams you are placed in. Client facing opportunities and opportunities to run parts of the project made all the difference. You can really take ownership with this role and are encouraged to do so

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Definitely has assisted with going back to student life. Interpersonal, time keeping and organizational skills are up there with the most improved from the internship. It has also taught me to focus on both task- based and holistic approaches which I will incorporate into further studies. Working in the city and clients head offices has definitely encouraged me to leave my comfort zone and push myself

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Office atmosphere was good, including a few ice cream runs in the hot weather! Occasionally pretty quite when PMs are out with the clients, so it does vary The office does need a bit of a re-vamp though, which I believe is coming

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The internship was well organized, with client rotations so that interns had exposure to multiple key company clients as well as different phases of the project lifecycle Internal company training does take up a bulk of the first week, but most of this is mandatory and cannot be helped

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • HR session on the first day was really useful in terms of standards and general guidance on conducting yourself Progress was monitored throughout with your line manager and feedback taken from the seniors on each client project, so that was really useful. Opportunities to enroll upon training by external visitors or company-wide through the online system or in house training

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • 3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Offered a place for further employment in terms of another internship or placement and graduate opportunities Clear progression options available if sought after

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Sometimes difficult with client secondments but internal teams had a fairly good social life 2/3 socials organized throughout the summer- understandably this is an additional cost for the company

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • It is Bank, so fairly expensive as expected in this area. More difficult for those that were commuting in from far

    3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Fairly decent, always something that is going on- some organized drinks and events e.g. canoeing and tapas, drinks

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Big company focus here- charity events organized and promoted during the during, also encouragement of outside achievements and some team building

    5/5
