    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?

    • Overall I did enjoy my internship and it has taught me a lot about my strengths and weaknesses within the business industry.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?

    • I was lucky enough to work in a very good team of people who cared about me both personally and professionally, however at times when it gets tough its easy to feel undervalued. Generally my managers and assistants have always made an effort to make me and my colleagues feel valued.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?

    • When changing branches I found this difficult as managers sometimes gave the impression that they were unsure who was responsible for my development.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?

    • In both branches we were super busy! It was hard to adjust at the beginning but once you get to grips with it the time passes.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?

    • Branch managers and assistant managers are paid in a way in which they sometimes struggle to give up responsibility. The more you learn and prove you are an asset the more responsibility you are given.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?

    • I learned lots about how such a large business operate so successfully. This will help when learning theoretical business back ay university.

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?

    • Atmosphere generally tended to be great and everyone got along. In a way you are in a small team so you have to get along or things will start to fall apart massively.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?

    • The internship went smoothly from start to finish and everyone involved in organizing it were a pleasure to work with.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?

    • There is continuous avenues of support supplied by so many people in the organization. If you do this internship the best bit of advice I would give is to reach out to people. No-one will know what is happening at your branch if you aren't telling them.

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?

    • The only thing that is stopping me from potentially working for Enterprise is the amount of hours working. This is a problem just because of my own personal circumstances.

    • Barely interacted with other interns.

    • There is no change to the price of living as I would have been in the same position regardless.

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?

    • Other than the occasional area night out or branch meal we did not spend much time together outside of work.
