    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • The placement sets any individual for a future within Enterprise or outside. It challenges you and tests previous skills. You meet amazing people who have all been in the same position as you at one point. The people within the business are lovely and how different each day is creates a challenge within itself. It was long hours but has made me appreciate free time and also motivated me to start my day early. You are there to learn how to run a business from all aspects. Perfect for any degree but works hand in hand with Business degrees.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I felt valued by most of my colleagues. Receiving thanks for staying on was great. Some individuals did not but you will always come across those people in any business. The appreciation you get from the individuals makes up for this though. You get taken out for area nights out, mentor lunches and get treated when you achieve good sales and customer service. Recognition emails are great as they get sent to the whole area so everyone can see your achievements. The HR team are amazing and will always be there for you in any situation. I personally had some amazing Assistant Managers who really valued me and encouraged me to take the next steps.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • There were particular individuals which helped me the whole way and pushed me. If you ask for help everyone will say 'yes' but due to the busy day to day working life at enterprise it does require pestering. The mentor lunches are really a great source of guidance and the PDM's (when done) are great.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • We work 50 hour weeks so it is always busy. Never short of something to do. If you are not busy renting you can catch up on admin and marketing in the spare time. Sometimes days will over run but its about team work and not leaving your team at a time of need.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • You are given a 12 month training folder which is left up to you to achieve. If you don't push to complete each section you will be left behind. There is various times of group training at head office but this is used to guide you and push you to take ownership of your placement here. The achievements you gain are all up to you as a person.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The skills learnt and developed are fantastic. This placement is enriched with development. You will not walk away not gaining some skills and experience. Time management, marketing, public speaking, customer service, sales, logistics, the numbers and how they effect success etc. some of many you learnt.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Atmosphere varies in the office. Some days it is fun and everyone is in high spirits but when the tools are not there to do the job ( e.g. cars) it can get stressful. Shortages of staff can make the atmosphere sour as the people there are over worked. If the staff are happy they can make the customers happier. Its a domino effect.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Very well organized. HR always keep you in check - they notify you on events and opportunities. The Stages 1-4 of training keep a great guideline for you.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • They do invest a lot od resources into people. There are online training sites and manuals you can revise and also the lunches and meetings you can set up to gain help and advise is great.

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Financial Bonus

    Company Parties/Events

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • There are many opportunities for promotion and many job roles. The structure of the promotion means you need to experience all levels of the business fro Intern to Assistant Manager to Branch Manager then to head office roles. The potential of bonuses of each of the branches profits is great.
