The Role
I loved working for Aish. It was a really exciting time in the company with their revenue streams increasing rapidly. The company has just been taken over by a global firm who is very interested in developing the next generation of business graduates. This motivated me to work for them and I would recommend Aish to other graduates.
Massively. As soon as you demonstrate your ability to gain trust, team members are happy to give you work. You are also invited to dozens of meetings to see what the rest of the workforce is up to, get to know you coffee catch ups and corporate updates throughout your internship.
I worked with a member of the team who had a vast experience with business strategy and improvement planning. This enabled me to access support and guidance in my role and i was always encouraged to ask questions and challenge predetermined methodologies. The support i was given aided my work and I felt very well managed.
Lots to do and lots to get involved with. Because Aish is focused on developing you, they will make sure there are always things on your plate. You don't feel overworked but can ask for more work if you want to develop. I always felt motivated to work hard and get through the projects set of me.
I felt that I was given a lot of responsibility. I was given the opportunity to take on lead roles in significant business projects and was trusted to perform in front of the senior leadership team. This motivated me to take on more challenging projects, but enabled me to focus my own work on quality.
Time management is SO important. I learnt the importance of planning, feedback and working in a larger team in the corporate environment. All of these things will aid my performance when I return to University and I hope to ensure that the grades I achieve will be a reflection of this work ethic. I would encourage all University students to undertake an internship during their time at University
The Company
Very bubbly and diverse. Being a growing company, there is a difference to a traditional corporate culture in my own opinion. However, I personally preferred it and felt that it was one that respected good ideas rather than a detailed structure of hierarchies. Being a young office, the company definitely encourages innovation.
Even before you start the internship, you are informed about a variety of activities to help you better understand the corporate culture. Once you start, you have a defined HR contact and the whole scheme has a focus on your development and how you can get the most out of your own internship. For me, this was a very unique experience
For me, Aish pushes you to develop yourself. There are lots of optional training sessions and online tools that you can get involved with. Overall though, I think Aish wants you to push yourself in your own work to make sure that you are developing in accordance with what your team would like you to achieve.

For me, Aish helped me define what career I am interested in and want to work in. The graduate schemes are directly linked to the internships and I would estimate that 50% of all graduates have worked in internships during their time at the company. For me, I would love to start my post graduate career at the firm
The Culture
This is one of my best experiences at Aish. I made life long friends who I speak to, years after finishing. There is a real focus on internal community within the interns with lots of nights outs, meals and social activities organised. I lived with other Aish interns, something I would recommend. It means you have a hub of friends before you have even started.
Poole is relatively inexpensive to live in and as a result, the cost of living and socialising is low. If you want to venture into Bournemouth, it is easy to do so and you can visit the more student themed clubs. Bournemouth is slightly more expensive due to it being a sea side town.
Close to Bournemouth so there is always something going on. I was personally not that fussed about living in the south before doing this internship. Now I cant imagine living anywhere else. Whether you are interested in going out or just chilling in Poole, there is always something going on.
There were several team events organised including the annual corporate social responsibility day. This is something that opens up your perspective on the corporate goals of the company. There is a lot of social activities, in my own experience these were football, karaoke nights, Christmas party and the monthly brands drink events.
