About You
The Spring Week was an absolute jam packed programme which enabled us to get as much out of the week. This made the learning experience very valuable and the overall experience very enjoyable.
The team that I work shadowed really accommodated for me and wanted me to get the most out of my time. I was given real responsibilities and had the opportunity to work on real on going projects. Some of my work were integrated in the overall team's research and used by seniors which was great.
We were provided with constant support throughout the programme, by both the recruiters and our teams. This support ranged from email communications to making us feel as comfortable as possible to ensure we enjoyed our week.
The skills/information I learnt will be very useful in making informed decisions about my future career path. Aditionally I will actually understand some of my university modules from a perspective of the industry given I have been able to understand how the industry applies what I've been taught at university.
The Company
Although very tight, the programme was structured to ensure we can get as much value out of our experience. As a result, I've gotten an insight into Citi in terms of the business division but also the firm's policies and research. The action packed structure has allowed me the have the more enjoyable and rewarding experience.
The atmosphere was constantly positive. Everyone was friendly, approachable and accomodating of the fact that our knowledge was limited as university students. Both the recruiters and our teams made sure we were comfortable throughout and learning as much as possible. The events organised allowed us to meet other teams and we had quite some time to spend with other interns learning about what work they'd been doing which was equally rewarding.
This insight programme was only 1 week and given the short period Citi has quite successfully been able to contribute towards our training and development. This was done by various workshops and by adding as much work shadowing to the schedule to ensure we learn as much as possible.
The insight provided an all-rounded experiencr of life at Citi and the role which provides us with a great extent of understanding about perusing a full time role within the firm.
The company culture was straight away reflected amongst the people: the way they interacted amongst each other or towards the interns, And how diverse each team was. This was reiterated by talks and presentations given by different teams at Citi (diversity, CSR, etc.).
Having to work on real projects was great in helping us picture ourselves actually being part of the team in the long-term and make informed career decisions.
Everything Else
Citi provides meals and paid for our hotels (if coming outside of London and this includes breakfast). They also reimbursed travel expenses.
Networking events were organised with the seniors (VPs and Directors of various teams) and juniors (graduates, analysts and associates). This allowed us to learn from as many people experiences and get a range of outlook on any questions we had.
Great- everyone was glad to be present and interacting with one another which made the experience enjoyable and rewarding.
We had some talks about how being part of Citi gives employees the opportunity to be involved in the community in many ways.
Definitely. For anyone looking to pursue a career in banking, or even just the financial services, this insight is an incredible experience to understand the industry and learn of the opportunities available for us at Citi.
