    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • My work placement was one of the best years of my life, it was more than just a placement it was a real insight into what life could be like after university and you make so many new friends who become like family. Even though its hard work i loved every second of it.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I felt very valued by all of my colleagues. You make so many connections throughout the company with people in all sorts of different jobs but because you all started of as management trainees you all know how everyone feels. Everyone is more than happy to help and there is a very strong element of team work that is built in to your day to day life.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • The support I received was more than I expected. I have dyslexia and they were more than happy to make sure I was comfortable with my working environment and put in certain procedures to help my day to day life in Enterprise. Through the graduate scheme you have to do stage tests, and the management are more than happy to sit down with you to go through it all, for as long as it takes for you to understand it. It was great to have such a strong support network.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • On a day to day basis it differed as to how busy we were. I worked in numerous locations and it again differed as to how busy they were, In the Hereford location it was quite busy but we had enough staff to balance it out. There are days were you do work late but thats the same with any job. However with other days it could be that you finish early. The hours are long but it's worth it! You get to go out on the road too which balances your time in the office, it's quite a nice being able to hop in and out of the office.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • To begin with you are thrown in to it. however with this type of job it's the best way! You undertake a lot of responsibility , everything from becoming an account manager and looking after an assigned account too near the end of the placement I was given the responsibility of running the day. This was great as it showed me that my team trusted me to run the day.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Enterprise's graduate programme is brilliant. It allows you to learn about everything as everything is part of the job role. Before Enterprise I couldn't understand a simple profit and loss statement. My manager sat down with me and ran through everything, I can now run through a 10 page statement without hesitation, My sales skills were non existent but with the training I received I managed to hit the prestigious elite club being 9th out of 200 people in the monthly in the sales competition. Marketing was improved day by day as i had real life experience, I can now use this for my degree!

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Every Enterprise office has the same atmosphere- Competitive, sales culture, and a lot of banter! They become like your family so if you have a tough day they are always there on hand to help you out and fall back on! It's such a fun time and it really allows you to be yourself and keep pushing on.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • On top of everything from start to finish! I honestly cant fault them even from the interview process everything was amazingly well organised! You have two locations which you work in and they make sure you're comfortable with everything. One thing that I was surprised about was how much of a personal touch Enterprise give everything this was one thing I wasn't expecting for such a huge company.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The company have you set up on a graduate programme whether you are a summer intern, a intern for the year or an actual graduate. Throughout the year you have to take 3 stage tests and then a Management qualification interview to be promoted on. It's good as it allows you and the company to keep helping you develop yourself.

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I didn't expect anything from the year in placement apart from experience. However i put in all my effort and they've said they would be more than happy to have me back at the end of my time at University. This gives me another thing to work for which is really nice and motivates me to go on. I would be more than happy to go back to such an amazing company.
