  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Santander is a really positive and supporting company to work for. My enjoyment stemmed from feeling valued by fellow & senior colleagues.

  • I felt valued by fellow & senior colleagues at all times which motivated me throughout the internship.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • With weekly 1 - to - 1's with my line manager and volunteered feedback from senior managers, I was never short of constructive feedback and praise.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • This varied (to be expected), but I would describe the general pace as moderate.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • My projects/tasks were clearly set out and support was given where needed. I was expected to keep track of on going tasks and complete them in a timely manner without reminders. Some tasks had higher impact than others so prioritising was key.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Progressed skills in data analysis, excel, coding.

  • The atmosphere was very friendly and supportive.

  • The internship felt very organised from the onset.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Santander had all interns complete mandatory training. The 1-to-1 sessions really helped give direction and goals to the internship.

  • Santander is a great company to work for, I would definitely consider a career here if the right role where to appear.

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Yes, although I felt this varies depending on location. i.e London will have greater socialising opportunities than MK

  • Moderate

  • Yes - As an intern group we did many activities (mostly related to CSR though)
