    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I really enjoyed my internship: 8 weeks were the right amount of time to gain real insight into the business and I leave feeling as though I would know what a permanent position would be like. The HR team and business units put a lot of effort into making sure that we had a good time.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • My colleagues really welcomed me onto the team and I felt very valued by them. They took time out of their day to explain what they were currently working on, answering any questions I may have had and arranging activities for me to do. It was a great team dynamic and I would love to go back.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • 5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I was very busy on a daily basis and never felt as though I did not know what to do. There were clear tasks and clear timelines to follow, but I had a lot of chances to practice my time management skills. There was also a lot of flexibility and I could always let my manager know if I was having any problems with anything.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • As I was spending a lot of time with many different people, I could not be given a lot of responsibility. This is the nature of the department I was in and I never felt unvalued or excluded because of this. I mostly did very general work, such as market research, or very specific admin work ad hoc.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Working in this industry means there is not much relevance for my degree but it was interesting nonetheless.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Strong teamwork, very helpful. Quite hardworking and stressful at quarter end. Calm in August

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • We were told that our entire graduate program will cease to exist the way we know it on our second last day. Unbelievably disappointing and unfair. The rest of the internship was well organised.
