The Role
Really great staff to work with! Flexibility with working days and hours. Felt like part of a real working team!
My colleagues allowed me to get involved in anything I was able to and encouraged me to go out of my comfort zone and visit other organisation to gain information about referrals
I had weekly supervision and chance to talk to my supervisors and manager daily
Some days I had to find things to do, and others I had plenty! The trick is to use the time to complete uni assignments if you don't have placement work to do and to make the most of each day
As much responsibility as I was allowed considering my role and more as the placement went on
The skills and training will prove useful I applying for graduate jobs in the future
The Company
Great atmosphere, like a real time with talk about professional things as well as chance to talk casually. Everyone showed a real interest in each other's work.
Very well set up and has been run many times so was very easy to find my way.
A weekly training programme was provided which gave me an insight into different areas of the trust and a chance to meet other professionals and my university peers.
Not very appealing due to the current economical climate and the cuts I witnessed to the NHS mental health teams.
The Culture
Colleagues invited my out for work and social events and we had meals for birthdays etc or shared lunches
I travelled to placement by car due to the public transport being too difficult to navigate to my placement
Didn't appear to be any nightlife in the area I worked
Some opportunities to get involved (e.g drinks at the pub)
