    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • The internship has provided me with a number of transferable skills that I can use in future employment opportunities. I enjoyed learning about a new industry and helping customers in difficult situations.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I felt very valued by my fellow colleagues in the branch as I've taken ownership of paperwork and tracking tickets. Ensuring all systems are upto date and we are on track to meet our goals. Everyone takes an invested interest into your personal being.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • We received great training for starting our internship with our trainer. He made training fun, engaging and interesting. He trained us at a pace that we could keep up with and made us really excited to get started. In the branch there is less support due to busy influx in customers and bookings. During my first week I felt very isolated and uncertain about my role and abilities. It took a while to feel confident in the role and become sure of what I'm selling and relaying to customers. My manager very rarely gives me feedback on my customer service skills or sales which can be demotivating if I feel I've done a great job.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Too busy!! We were very rarely prepared for the customers that we had booked in. Often downgrading customer or delaying them due to limited availability which is dissapointing as a provider of "excellent customer service".

    2/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given a lot of responsibility while at my branch, I took ownership of the daily vote email, keeping on top of the ticket tracker and yellow cars update.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The skills I've learnt at Enterprise will be easily transferred to any future career! Definetley skills for life!!

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Mostly positive and upbeat but very often stressful and disorganised. As an intern who doesn't have the most extensive knowledge it can be difficult to manage and cope with the stress and disorganisation.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • I hadn't looked into reviews of the internship before starting and I've heard a lot of mixed opinions since starting! The training week was very well organised and it was great to meet everyone from Head Office. The actual in branch experience was very disorganised and hectic!

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The company did invest in us through an extensive training week upon starting. After that I felt very little support and guidance from branch staff.

    3/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • 1/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • The company gives great employment opportunities and all promotions are from within! If you enjoy the internship you've got a job for life!

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • There is a social scene and the opportunity for nights out but very rarely actually happen. There is a better social scene from the team at head office. There will be a Intern night out at the end of the Internship.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Glasgow is great!

    5/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Great, loads of variety!

    5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Enterprise is very involved with charities and there was the opportunity to be involved with Pride Parades.

    5/5
