The Role
Everyone was friendly and willing to assist in my learning
The members of my team and the marketing managers were able to use my information when creating their forecasts.
The Marketing manager had weekely meetings with me to discuss my progress. I also had weekly meetings with the marketing team. My boss was very helpful and offered me free marketing books to help me along.
The work i had kept me busy.
I feel that i could have had more responsibility, however i think it was difficult considering the size of the company.
I think that it improved my German skills a great deal. It also helped me to learn about how to deal/behave with people in the office, its not like anything i have experinced at university or in a part time job.
The Company
The atmosphere in the office was busy but at the same time very friendly.
The placement scheme was well organised and they were even interested in our feedback so that they could improve it for the next lot of students.
The company didnt really invest in me that much, however as mentioned, my boss did offer me marketing books to assist me in my learning.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Financial Bonus
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Above 25 days holiday
My boss has told me that he would like to see me as a future Agilent employee, however i am not sure if i would like to work in Germany in my career.
The Culture
There was only myself and another Bournemouth university student there. Unfortunately i didnt get along with her, however i met other English placement students working at other firms.
Although our pay was low, the cost of living was very cheap. We were able to go on trips around Germany and snowboarding in Austria whilst we over there so money wasnt a problem.
The nightlife was better than expected. Although there were many german pubs, there was also an Irish bar and a few night clubs.
Yes, however i had to put myself forward. I joined Stuttgart University's football team and played pool with the other placement students after work.
