    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • I really enjoyed the 2 weeks, they were well structured with a varied range of activities, such as talks from charities and ambassadors of Teach First, and group tasks which helped us to learn about teaching.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • As a team we were made to feel highly valued. We felt we were an important part of helping achieve the Teach First vision.

    5/5

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • The first week provided a lot of guidance for our lesson which we would deliver in the second week, such as how to plan, what to include in a lesson, and how to assess for learning.

    4/5

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The programme encouraged and helped me to develop my competencies. I feel more confident in public speaking since the programme. I can see the benefits of taking opportunities that I am originally nervous about, but can see the long term benefit in making me more confident.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • Well structured with a varied range of activities, such as talks from charities and ambassadors of Teach First, and group tasks which helped us to learn about teaching.

    5/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • The insight programme had a really fun atmosphere. All participants got to know each other really well, as we were staying together in accommodation, and socialising after the days work. The activities coordinated during the day were stimulating and fun.

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • We received a feedback call from our assessment day with equal positive feedback, and areas of improvement. Over 4 personal development sessions, we looked at where we needed to develop, and considered opportunities where we can develop them, and the things that are holding us back and how to overcome this. These sessions enabled us to do as well as we could in the final assessment day, and I felt well prepared.

    5/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • A range of talks from different ambassadors and partner companies helped me to appreciate the Teach First vision is achieved both in the company, but also how they work along with partner charities and companies to achieve the same vision. I feel much more passionate about education inequality.

    5/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • I feel that during the programme we were well supported by staff, and learned how we would be further supported during the leadership programme if we were to enrol onto it. It was nice to be in an uncompetitive environment, with everyone working towards vision.

    5/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • Through teaching my own lesson, planning lessons in the staffroom and even helping supervise break time, it provided real insight into what it is like to be a teacher.

    4/5
