    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I have really enjoyed my time working in Product Development Marketing and love how independent and innovative I can be in this job role.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I had ownership of my own project and was trusted to manage many things independently. My team were extremely supportive and pushed me to develop my skills, manage my own time and to have confidence in my own ability.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I always felt supported in my role, with regular catch ups and guidance when needed. The team spirit is amazing - I definitely felt treated as an equal and there was always someone happy to help no matter how busy.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I was very busy - there was not a day in the year where I felt useless and bored. Whilst this can sometimes be stressful, it is the best way to learn and I felt extremely productive. This placement experience is for someone who is motivated and driven to excel in their career due to the great opportunities and high level of trust given to interns at the body shop.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I had my own project where I created a concept and took this all the way to launch. It was extremely rewarding to see a finish product that I created at the end of the placement. Your managers and team members really encourage you to push and develop yourself by giving you as much responsibility as they can.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The skills I have learnt this year and invaluable - I will be able to use these in my final year as well as in my career afterwards. Working in The Body Shop has taught me such a range of skills from creativity to confidence and analytical skills - when I look back to the start of the year it is clear that I have developed immensely as a person and marketeer.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Chilled, relaxed, friendly, motivating, creative, supportive, busy

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • It was well organised - especially starting in June with all other interns. We had inductions with each team and a hand over for a week to learn all the daily tasks and top tips.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • We did have a mid year and end of year review to discuss with our managers how we are getting on and areas of development we can focus on. Throughout the year I was trained by my managers when tasks had to be done that i had not encountered before. Working in product develop marketing you are managing so many processes that it is best to learn as you go.

  • There are some socials among the students and colleagues - especially with the L'Oreal interns.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • I lived in Croydon so the cost of living was low - however, the cost of socialising in London is pricey (but so worth it haha)

    3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • London - Great! Croydon - Not so great!

    3/5
