    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • Really enjoyed the insight day because you met numerous people within the firm who were willing to answer any of your questions. Additionally, the talks on different areas of the business were very informative.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • I felt very valued as any of the recruitment team and employees had time to answer any of your questions and they had clearly spent a long time preparing the talks and activities.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • Lots of guidance and support through the information they provided and answering any queries we had either about the selection process, firm or service areas.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The information provided really gave you a clear idea of what each service line does - which is something I found hard to understand before. This has helped me identify which sound most interesting and suits me for applying for an internship.

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The company really invested in us as they provided us with lots of information on what they look for in candidates and the different opportunities available. Everyone on the insight day is fast-tracked for an internship for the following summer too. They also clearly set out the steps going forward in the selection process.

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • It gave a really good understanding of what a full-time role is like because each of the employees from each service area explained their role and what this entailed. By having employees who actually work in each area, during lunch and break we could go to them and ask specific questions to find out more.

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • The insight gave me a good understanding of company culture as they clarified how the firm was flexible and many worked for home or had flexible hours. They also explained how no one has their own desk and it's flexible as they all hot desk - including people in senior positions.

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • Very helpful as now I think I know which area I want to work in - especially good for applying for an internship next year. I think for anyone who was slightly confused about which area suited them best, this was an invaluable experience to identify your area of interest going forward.

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • Yes, we were allowed a £50 maximum towards our travel expenses. My expenses exceeded this as I was travelling quite far so I was given slightly more than £50 but not enough to cover my whole transport costs. However, most who attended only travelled from London so this was enough for them.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • During the introduction lunch and break, employees from throughout the firm came to network with us and were very helpful. It gave you a chance to chat to not only employees about the firm in general and its culture but people within the specific areas about how they enjoy the job etc.

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • The networking opportunities were great as you could chat to different employees about their job and the firm. It gave you a chance to not only speak to other students interested in Willis Towers Watson but also the employees within the firm. The recruitment staff were also very approachable and helpful.

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • Yes, they explained how they often socialise within the firm outside of work. They also explained a lot about when the graduates or interns initially start, they are taken away to New York or elsewhere which gives a great chance for all new employees to bond and get to know each other.

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • Definitely, gave a really good understanding and has helped me in identifying where I want to apply for an internship for next year. I also think it's brilliant how they give you an advantage through the fast-track. Overall, the event made me want to work for Willis Towers Watson even more.
