    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • The placement was very enjoyable and gave a good insight on how it would be to work for the company.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • This is probably the best part about the placement. During my time working there I was treated very well and and made welcome by the people I came in contact with.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • During my placement I was provided with plenty of support. If I needed help all I had to do was ask.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I was kept busy as possible, I rarely found myself having nothing to do.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given as much responsibility over my work as possible which gave me a good insight in what working in the industry would be like.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I believe the placement gave me a lot of skills that are valuable for a career such as building a network, presentational skills and time management being the main ones.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • It was a very friendly environment in which I could socialise and discuss work with my colleague, an Ideal office environment in my opinion.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The internship was very well structured. It made things like getting set up and going on training very smooth and hassle free.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The company put a lot of importance in this area. They showed a real interest in my personal development and training such as paying for courses which included overnight stay, food and travel. This is another area I believe the company did very well.

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I enjoyed my time during my placement and the company made it a very enticing prospect to work for them in future as they showed such a good interest.

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • I felt very welcome during my placement and made friends while I was there, even going for social drinks with them after work on weekends. The training courses were also made social which was good.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • For me it was very low cost as I lived in the area I worked and the social places are relatively inexpensive.

  • With a social group the nightlife in the area is fairly good, its no city but it is still enjoyable

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • If you are into walking up fells or like the countryside then the place is ideal
