    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?

    • I got on very well with everyone in my branch so going to work was enjoyable. There was a friendly upbeat atmosphere between staff and customers and lots of banter.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?

    • You will work in fairly small teams within the branch which means it is easier to get to know everyone. However you will get to know pretty much everyone from local branches too which is great!

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?

    • At the start of the placement you receive a training folder which guides you through what you will be learning. This is a great support as it keeps track of your progress. Also my manager and team were very supportive and encouraged me to get involved with everything.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?

    • There were only a few quiet days; the branches are very busy. But this is good as it makes the day go quicker and keeps you busy. I never felt that we were under staffed.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?

    • My manager gave me lots of responsibility and by the end of my placement i pretty much had my own tasks and duties. You certainly wont be making tea all day! You are doing the same job that permanent members of staff do, so you learn a lot.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?

    • Great experience of running a business, teamwork, customer service, sales etc. All of these skills will be a great help when applying for graduate jobs

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?

    • The staff were all upbeat and we all got on well so there was a good atmosphere within the office

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?

    • There were scheduled training sessions for all interns which were very helpful. However we probably could have done with a bit more training at the start.

    • We received training for different aspects of the job, but as above, we probably could have done with a couple more

    • Healthcare from home

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?

    • I wouldnt mind going back to enterprise to work there permanently, but the salary is quite low for a graduate job so this does put me off slightly!

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?

    • We all got on very well at the initial training but we never met up outside of work.

    • I lived at home so very cheap!

    • Birmingham is a great city with great nightlife.

    • I came across the occasional charity event that you could get involved in but apart from that we never went out as a team
