  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • The job with Vauxhall exceeded my expectations. I enjoyed the role a lot and was impressed with the real responsibility I was given.

  • The department I worked in was very friendly and all staff made us feel part of the team.

  • Excellent support was given by management, and we were assigned a tutor to help with support and guidance.

  • Always had work to be getting on with, whether it be frequent Ad-hoc tasks or project based.

  • I was responsible for a lot during my placement.

  • I had the chance to develop a lot of skills including communication, initiative and teamwork. These are sure to help in my final year at University.

  • The office environment was professional, and there were other placement students to work with.

  • Vauxhall have ran the programme for a long time and you can see this by how well it is set up.

  • At the start of placement we had a handover period in which we participated in a lot of different training.

  • Vauxhall is a fantastic company to work for and the graduate roles are well placed with great responsibility.

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • There were a large number of undergraduates, and we always had social events each weekend. Whether in Luton itself, of further afield in Milton Keynes, Watford or London.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Luton is reasonable to live in. Housing can be as little as £250 per month and food/drink is ok.

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Luton itself is ok for nightlife, with a few nightclubs to choose from. Bars and restaurants are available, and it is close to London (30 Mins on train).

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • I was able to volunteer to help at numerous events, from Warehouse open days to track days at Silverstone.
