  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • This placement is wonderful, the office environment is very friendly and supportive. The work is interesting and skill learnt can be used in the future in other funcitons.

  • We are treated the same as normal employees. The department really depends on us doing our job and your responsibility.

  • Managers are very friendly and knowledgeable. They give you guidance on both the overall business and specific to your role within the organisation.

  • There are plenty of work to do and improvements you can make. Your ideas are welcomed and looked into.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • We provide many reports to senior management and to people in our department with critical metrics and performance measures.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • During the 12 month you will be involved in all kind of projects. This can teach you how to be more organised, assess the priority of tasks on hand and also time management.

  • All very friendly, there are people with very broad range of knowledge and interesting stories. You can ask for help from whoever you want and they will always try to help

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Vauxhall has run this placement scheme for many years and it is one of the largest in the country therefore it is very well organised. All the people involved had experience with placement students and some of them were an intern at some stage just like us

  • We get many in house training opportunity and in some role you get sent to a special course outside of the company with all expenses covered.

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Many placement student come back to Vauxhall after finishing their last year of uni, you will have an advantage or preference in the interview compare to other applicants because you already know the job and the environment of the organisation. There are many job offers floating around all the time.

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Group activities and night out are often organised specially around pay day.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • It is relatively cheap compare to uni. You can easy save up some money for the final year

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • It is only 30 minutes on train to London which is ideal and also night clubs in surrounding towns

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Yes, football matches are organised every Tuesday and Friday. Some rounders and quiz competition are also organised during the year
