The Role
Extremely good experience whilst studying at university, allowed me to add to my skillsets considerably and also boosted my confidence.
My fellow colleagues were very welcoming, my initial thought was that I may get seen as just an 'intern'. My experience was very far from it and I felt at home and welcome within my teams.
I worked in such high pace environments so not only did I need to ask questions to make sure I got things right, but I also understood my managers time would be limited. Even though they would have a lot on their plate to deal with, I always received feedback or they got back to me when they said they would.
I managed to get quite a unique role on of my projects so it led to me having my own tasks that I would need to sort through each morning plus new ones building up on top. I was busy or could easily assist in other areas if i had the capacity.
Like mentioned above I had a unique role which came with quite a lot of responsibility in terms of receiving questions from various teams I was working with or meeting with clients.
My internship helped me understand the importance of planning more for projects, it also had considerable impact on decision making skills and also confidence levels.
The Company
Very positive, help was never to far away and everyone seem to enjoy the working environment
Accenture seem to value their interns quite highly. They set us up on a training course and then led us onto various job places that needed support. Always open to help you and paired you up with a mentor if you had any further questions.
One big programming training course that taught you from the very basics to a fairly intermediate level, various training course ran throughout the year which you could join if your manager gave permission. I was lucky enough to take part in a web development course in london when I had some downtime in a project.

Working from home
Extremely appealing and I personally would love to commence work at Accenture again.
The Culture
Mixed ages across the work teams however also quite a large post-grad group, this was very nice as some of the people understood the position you were in as they have just done the same thing. Accenture also regularly established social events throughout the year and especially in holiday seasons.
As I was on an out of town, the company allowed me to expense the cost of living which was a very good perk with the job.
Didnt investigate the nightlife too much in the out of town projects I was part of however the Accenture socials at various pubs were always great fun
Plenty. Lots of sports groups you could join that had activities throughout the week. Personally I played football once a week with everyone on my project, this included even managing directors so it was great fun gaining a bit of insight from them and getting to know people from all different levels.
