  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I had a very enjoyable placement down in Portsmouth. I met some great people and was able to complete very interesting work

  • The colleagues were extreme friendly both at and outside work. I have made friends for life during my placement

  • My line manager always went out of his way to make sure I knew what I was doing and that I was enjoying my work

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I almost always had things to do and had to start turning down work as there was too much to complete.

  • I was responsible for a complete testing of components as well as modelling of systems.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I have gained a vast amount of skills and training that i will be able to use for years to come.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • There was a very friendly atmosphere in the office with constant conversation on breaks and at lunch but also everyone was very eager to assist with any troubles

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The casual approach from my line manager created a very well structured work with a good balance of activities and projects to take part in.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I was given a course in a software engineering programme as well as training with health and safety as well as testing protocol.

  • Subsidised Canteen

  • On the scholarship scheme it is a guaranteed spot on the graduate scheme upon graduating with a 2:1

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • There is a great network of interns within the company and during my placement I visited some of the other interns around the country

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • I was staying in an fully furnished on suite accommodation with a minute walk from the seaside for 90 pounds bills included.

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • There was a good intern group that were always going to pub quizzes and the local nightclubs at the weekend.

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • During my time on placement i was able to participate in many different sports as well as going to nice restaurants and hang out on the beach at the weekends. There was always something going on.
