The Role
Vauxhall is a great place to work
I worked within a great team of people who were always on hand to offer support when needed.
Many people in the organisation have previously been undergraduates and graduates, including the current MD. Lots of procedures in place such as performance reviews and each undergraduate will also be assigned a mentor.
Thrown into the deep end straight away, and sometimes had a very high workload and I would have to put many extra hours in. However this has allowed me to develop many skills and have lots of experiences as I worked on a vast range of projects.
All roles at Vauxhall have very high levels of responsibility.
I have developed many skills, both technical skills for the role such as IT and safe driver training and also personal skills such as assertiveness and decision making skills.
The Company
Lots of nice people in my team and everyone is happy to help.
There is a great handover/induction period.
I received presentation, excel and safe driver training as part of my induction, however after this induction training all the rest was learned on the job.
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
I would love to come back to Vauxhall, it is in my top choices for a graduate position.
The Culture
Nearly 80 students on placement, most in Head office or surrounding areas so lots of social activities take place. Luton has a range of pubs and clubs and also a short train journey to London.
Luton is quite cheep to live in.
A few good clubs and pubs, however as there are so many undergraduates, many who live together, there is always something going on.
Yes, including charity/fundraising events, PR events and I also took up some regular volunteering work in Luton.
