Mini Plant Swindon - Maintenance Planning - 13 Month Placement (July 2022)

Maintenance Planning Placement

We are seeking a driven and motivated individual to join us within our Maintenance Planning department for a 13 month placement, commencing July 2022. Maintenance Planning are responsible for the strategy behind maintaining our production equipment. Generations of maintenance plans and schedules, based on knowledge and experience, are used to meet the Technical Availability targets of the Technology. Additionally, we are responsible for major repair projects as well as the project management of major overhauls of production equipment to ensure longevity of production and avoidance of obsolescence.

What will you be doing?

  • Working on a project surrounding SAP, the software we use for scheduling maintenance at the BMW Group.
  • Supporting the maintenance planning organisation with the migration of the SAP maintenance system to the new PKT standard (a new system).
  • Ensure that the SAP structure meets the BMW Group standard before data migration takes place, working alongside the SAP key user to validate and prove the structures are suitable for the new SAP system.
  • Develop a close working relationship with the Smart Maintenance reporting team, the development team in charge of creating mobile based applications for maintenance.
  • Bringing SAP data into the correct format and structure to allow Business Intelligence systems to report on data correctly.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Studying towards a bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical etc.), IT Systems, Business or a similar field and on track to achieve a 2:2 or higher.
  • Ability to be flexible and agile within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Understanding of business intelligence systems and visualisation of data using QLIK and PowerBI is advantageous but not essential.
  • Excellent IT skills (Excel in particular).
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage your time, as well as working within a team.
