National IT Placement (eCommerce Placement)

We are looking for someone to come in and work as part of a team supporting and improving ALDI’s eCommerce platforms (Groceries and Non-Groceries).

During this time, ALDI will also be migrating our eCommerce applications from national solutions to globally aligned market leading eCommerce platforms and the successful applicant will have opportunity to be involved in this exciting initiative. You will gain exposure and knowledge of eCommerice and Web architecture, Programme/Project Management and Application Migration.

Ideally, you will have a background or strong interest in all aspects of back end web and mobile technology (architecture, security etc, rather than front end design, user experience). You will be liaising with business eCommerce teams so good communication and people skills would be required.

Trust us, there is always plenty going on at Aldi - our business is constantly growing and developing. Yes, the placement can be daunting. However, it can also be a fantastic opportunity to learn and be inspired by a company that is so different to all the others.

From the moment you start at Aldi, we’ll look after you properly. You’ll get £25,375* for the 12 months you spend with us, together with 4 weeks’ holiday allowance (plus bank holidays). If the role fits, we’d love you to apply for a permanent role after you graduate.

*Based on a 50 hour contract.

The National IT department

The National IT department is at the very heart of Aldi. We're made up of small high-performing teams, and you can expect plenty of exposure plus hands-on experience of an IT department within a global company. Typically, you could join us as part of a technical team supporting the live business, part of a large scale project team or even have responsibility for a smaller scale project by yourself.

Many of the opportunities available will depend on what's going on with the business at the time. We have opportunities in various exciting areas of IT, including: Hardware and Systems, Business Intelligence and Reporting, E-commerce, Store Payments and Ahead Project Coordinators.

About Aldi

At Aldi, we’re committed to giving talented students the responsibility and opportunities to have the best start to their career. So, whichever Placement you choose you’ll be in the thick of the action from the start.

You’ll join the 5th largest retailer in the UK and one of Rate My Placement’s Top 100 Undergraduate Employers and over the year, you’ll experience early responsibility as well as rare exposure to the internal workings of Aldi. With determination and extraordinary focus you’ll learn a lot about yourself, as you tackle brand new situations and prove your worth in our fast-paced retail environment.

Yes, it’s demanding – but we provide incredible support. Plus, you’ll have the chance to apply for a permanent role after you graduate.
