PR and Communications Placement
We’re looking for someone with enthusiasm, creativity and a strong interest in PR and communication to join our busy team during their gap year.
Purpose of the role
This role supports both the Corporate Communications and Media Relations teams in the development, distribution and measurement of various PR and communications activity, communicating Paragon’s key messages across different media. The role will involve working across PR, internal communications, public affairs and investor relations for a growing specialist bank based in Solihull.
Duties and responsibilities
- Drafting content for blogs, press releases and internal news stories
- Uploading articles to the company intranet
- Working with HR and other internal departments to promote employee initiatives
- Proofreading a variety of communications materials
- Providing support on financial communications and investor relations activity
- Attending team meeting and forming strong relationships across the department
- Assist the teams with daily administrative tasks
- Daily monitoring of press and other media
- Regular competitor analysis
- Assist in the measurement of results of all activity
- Ensuring activity is aligned with Paragon’s brand values and behaviours
Skills
- A strong interest in PR and communications
- Strong administration and organisational skills
- Good attention to detail
- Able to manage multiple activities through to satisfactory conclusion in a high-pressure environment
- Good team player, proactive and able to work on own initiative
- Strong copywriting skills and the ability to communicate ideas
- Strong proof-reading skills
- Confident
- Personable, presentable and articulate
Qualifications and experience
Ideal candidate will be in the process of obtaining a PR, Communications, or similar, degree.
Working hours
37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5.00pm (one hour for lunch).
Training
Relevant training will be provided.
